  • Evergreen shrub, low-growing, wide spreading, to about 5 ft (1.5 m) tall [a prostrate form, undulate prostata, only grows about 3 ft (0.9 m) tall].  Leaves elliptic-oblong to oblong-lanceolate, 3-8 cm cm long, usually with a wavy margin.  Flower clusters 5-7 cm across and fruit about 6 mm wide, orange to coral-red.
  • Sun or light shade.   Prefers moist, well-drained, slightly acid, organic soil.  Susceptible to fireblight.
  • Hardy to USDA Zone 6      Native to western China.
