David Hasselhoff

David Hasselhoff was born on July 17, 1952 in Baltimore, Maryland, and spent much of his early life moving between Florida, Georgia and Illinois. He studied at Bates College in Lewiston, Maine, Oakland University in Rochester, Michigan, and graduated with a theater degree from California Institute of the Arts in Valencia, California. His acting career took off in the 1970s with a role on the soap opera The Young and the Restless and the lead role on the hit series Knight Rider. Hasselhoff crossed over to a music career during the end of the 1980s and the early 1990s. He has had much success as a singer primarily in German-speaking Europe and Great Britain, hitting No. 1 on their pop charts.

Hasselhoff is best known in America, however, for his TV acting on shows such as Baywatch, portraying lifeguard 'Mitch Buchannon' for over ten years. Hasselhoff made his Broadway debut in 2000 in the title role of Jekyll & Hyde. In 2006, he co-judge on NBC's America's Got Talent and in 2007 he announced that he would star in an E! series fictionalizing his life.

Hasselhoff was married to actress Catherine Hickland from 1984 to 1989. He then married actress Pamela Bach on December 9, 1989, the couple had two daughters. He and Bach divorced after 16 years of marriage in 2006.
