Victoria Gate has to be one of the most striking shopping centres in Leeds. There’s a sense of luxury which extends from the architecture to the brands you’ll find here – and the restaurants above. It’s anchored by the flagship four-floor John Lewis store, but you’ll also be able to dip into Anthropologie, The White Company, & Other Stories and more for designer clothes and quirky stuff for the home. The scent of coffee wafts through the doors of Pret, and you’ll find a rich range of places to grab a bite to eat.

One of the pride and joys of the city, the Victoria Quarter rewrites the rules for what a modern shopping centre can be. For starters, it’s simply gorgeous. From the wonderfully tiled floor to the largest stained-glass roof in Britain, it’s a masterpiece in how to refresh Victorian architecture. The shops are equally high-end, with Louis Vuitton, Molton Brown, Charbonnel et Walker, Paul Smith, numerous jewellers and the multiple floors of Harvey Nichols all making a home here. It’s the perfect place for window shopping or really putting your credit cards through their paces.
