Abstract
Paraergasilus rylovi Markevich, 1937, described from the Caspian Sea, has been redescribed because of the uncertainties and errors in the original description. As the type-material had been destroyed, the comparison was made on the basis of planktonic specimens and specimens parasitic on the mussel Anodonta piscinalis in Lake Vrevo, Leningrad district. It is not known whether the specimens of Markevich really had a six-segmented first antenna. If they did, then we have redescribed P. markevichi Titar & Chernogorenko, 1982.
