Abstract

A new species of Puccinia with diorchidioid teliospores is described from Urochloa decumbens (Poaceae) in Panama. It differs from the other known species of Puccinia with diorchidioid teliospores by uredinia with paraphyses and urediniospores with 3–4 scattered germ pores. Twenty-one known species of rust fungi are cited for Panama for the first time. Alveolaria cordiae is a poorly known species which is reported, described and illustrated in detail for the first time on Cordia spinescens in Panama.
