Abstract
When performing a laparoscopic totally extraperitoneal (TEP) inguinal hernia repair, the preperitoneal space is entered. All of the dissection is performed in the preperitoneal space, as well as mesh placement. Lap TEP can be used for unilateral, bilateral and recurrent inguinal hernias. Lap TEP does not require closure of the peritoneum.
