Abstract

Acute mesenteric ischemia may prove to be an elusive diagnosis. This is made more complex given the extensive differential diagnosis of acute abdominal pain. Timely diagnosis of mesenteric ischemia requires a high index of suspicion. If left untreated, mortality is 100%.
