Abstract
Auditing an SAP system often requires "hacker"-like skills to be able to see behind the scenes of an application. To enable you to do this, the SAP system offers a wide range of search options and analysis tools. From a compliance perspective, two large areas in the SAP ERP environment are important (see Figure 5.1): - The application logic of SAP, consisting of the interaction of transactions, programs, and database tables - Protection of the access to the application logic
It is impossible to know everything. In a complex ERP system such as SAP ERP in particular, you have to know about the possible sources of information and be proficient in search techniques, provided you already understand the basic connections, of course.
