Abstract

Campeiostachys Drobov is a new genus published by the Soviet botanist Василий Петрович Дробов in Volume 1 of the Uzbekistan Flora (Флора Узбекистана ССР). The type species is Campeiostachys schrenkiana Drobov. It is allohexaploid containing the H, St, and Y genomes (Lu & von Bothmer, 1992). Currently known, there are 11 species and 14 variants containing the H, St, and Y genomes in Triticeae, including Campeostachys schrenkiana Drobov. Since the type species of Campeostachys Drobov is characterized by containing the H, St, and Y genomes, it should be appropriate to classify the grasses containing the H, St, and Y genomes into the genus Campeostachys.
