WEST CHESTER TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WKRC) - Three schools were placed on an internal lockdown Monday afternoon following a threat.

The Lakota Local School District issued the lockdown at Creekside Elementary School, Lakota West Freshman School, and Lakota Central.

Administrators say an anonymous message was sent to the Ohio School Safety Tipline claiming a student might have a weapon.

No one was allowed to enter or leave the schools while police investigated. The lockdown was lifted within an hour.

Lakota West sent out a message to parents saying while no weapons were found, a student did have ammunition in their possession.

The message states the student is facing disciplinary action and may face charges from West Chester Police, as well.

On Tuesday, police said two teens were charged with felony inducing panic and were taken to the Juvenile Detention Center.

No students or staff were injured during the incident. They were dismissed at their regular time with officers present.
