Zelda is running from some Yiga, you know normal. But just when a Yiga is about to chop her in half, Link is here to the rescue! But, still not why it’s my favorite. As Link stands there in front of Zelda, getting the Yiga to back up, she looks at him like this. She sees Link, but not how she’s seen him before. Suddenly she sees this hero, someone who would is protecting her unconditionally, she even writes in her diary, about this moment and how she sees him differently.
“I am unsure how to put today’s events into words. Words so often evade me lately, and now more than ever. He saved me. Without a thought for his own life, he protected me from the ruthless blades of the Yiga Clan. Though I’ve been cold to him all this time…taking my selfish and childish anger out on him at every turn… Still, he was there for me. I won’t ever forget that. Tomorrow, I shall apologize for all that has transpired between us. And then…I will try talking to him. To Link. It’s worth a shot.“
You can see it in her eyes. She doesn’t realize it but this is the point in which she is now falling in love with him. Her pupils enlarge and you even hear Zelda’s Lullaby. She looks at him with all this… emotion. Everything has changed. This is her turning point.
I think one of the best things about watching all the memories in order is seeing Zelda’s development of falling in love with Link. This memory being the start of that feeling.
