This fantastic Pacific Northwest Native American art print is professionally framed with matting and depicts the Kwa-Guilth Sun.  It was likely created in the 1970's or earlier.  It is in excellent vintage condition with minor wear to the frame.

The back of the frame has a piece of paper with the description below of the design and the artist, Tony Hunt.

"The sun design is an important family crest of some Kwa-Guilth families.  It is almost always represented by either a human face, or a human face with a hawk-like nose and separated rays radiating out from the face.  The sun design is also identified by the use of the colour yellow.  Tony Hunt has been involved in the designing and carving of traditional Kwakiutl pieces since 1952.  Since 1962, Tony Hunt has exhibited extensively throughout the U.S. and Canada in Museums and Art Galleries.  With the opening of the Arts of the Raven Gallery in 1970, Tony Hunt has had the opportunity of teaching and assisting more than 30 students.  'By maintaining the traditional art forms of my culture, I will continue to insure my heritage'."
