Name: Banded Leaf Monkey (Presbytis femoralis)

Habitat: Primary forests, Mature Secondary Forests and Swamp Forests

Description: With only 40 – 60 individuals left in the wild, the critically endangered Banded Leaf Monkey is the rarest of the three primate species in Singapore (with the Long-tailed Macaque and Humans being the other two species). Mostly arboreal by nature, this secretive species is highly sensitive to disturbance, and will rapidly retreat to quieter areas in the face of disturbance.
