Lafayette College
Meier is in his third year as provost — the college’s chief academic officer — where he is responsible for ensuring that Lafayette delivers on its educational mission.
“I get to work with exceptionally dedicated and talented people, all of whom are working to provide opportunities for our students to grow and succeed,” he said.
When it comes to mentors, “I count myself lucky to have worked with three former provosts at Lafayette: Wendy Hill, Bob Cohn and Abu Rizvi,” Meier said. “Each of them demonstrated how to be fully present when discussing particular issues with individuals or small groups, and also fully committed to advancing the strategic priorities of the college.”
Higher education provides transformative opportunities for students “and also those of us who are privileged enough to support them,” he added. “Always be grateful for the opportunity and start each day celebrating what we have done and will accomplish.”
