The sweet onion category leader announced the news Friday. Mr. Edmonson's appointment will take effect on January 13, 2013. He replaces Bruce Peterson who has served as interim CEO since July 1, 2011. Mr. Peterson will remain on the company's Board of Advisors.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><img src="https://cdn.andnowuknow.com/legacyWriterImages/bryce.jpg" alt="images120712" /><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">Mr. Edmonson brings over twenty-five years of industry experience to his new role, spending 18 years with Del Monte Fresh Produce in charge of leading the North American organization, before starting an agribusiness consulting company in 2005. The industry veteran has served on the Bland Farms board for the last three years. Currently he serves on several other food company boards as well.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">Delbert Bland, Bland Farms Owner and President, believes that Mr. Edmonson is a perfect fit for the company, “Our family business has grown in 30 years from a small farm in Georgia to a farm that has sites across the US and internationally.
