Bollywood diva and fitness enthusiast Shilpa Shetty Kundra's mother Sunanda underwent surgery recently.
The actress took to Instagram on Thursday to share a health update about her mother. Alongside a picture of the Shetty matriarch from the hospital with her surgeon, Mrs Kundra penned an emotional note on the photo-sharing platform.

In her lengthy post, Shetty Kundra said that the last few days have been a roller coaster for the family. She also lauded her mother's fighting spirit.

"Seeing a parent undergo surgery is never easy for any child. But, if there’s anything I want to emulate from my mom it’s her guts and her fighting spirit. The last few days have been a roller coaster. But, my hero and my hero's hero saved the day," she wrote in her caption.

Shetty Kundra didn't reveal why her mother had to undergo surgery. However, since she was being treated by a cardiologist, it can be assumed that she was suffering from some heart ailment.

The 'Dhadkan' star thanked Nanavati Max Super Speciality Hospital's consulting cardiologist Dr Rajiv Bhagwat for taking care of her mother. "Thank you so much, Dr Rajeev Bhagwat, for taking such good care of Ma before, during, and after her surgery. A huge thank you with a grateful heart, to the doctors and the staff at Nanavati for their relentless support & care," she added.

Shetty Kundra urged her more than 28 million fans to pray for her mother's speedy recovery. "Please do keep Ma in your prayers till she makes a full recovery, my dearest, Instagram Family. Prayers work miracles," she concluded her post with hashtags like #grateful #blessed and #positivity.

Netizens and industry friends flooded the comment section with "get well soon" messages.

Shetty Kundra's actress-sister Shamita Shetty dropped a comment, "Our momie is the strongest. Love ya."

Actress Raveena Tandon wished Sunanda a "speedy recovery," and actress Dia Mirza sent love and good energy her way.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Shetty Kundra has a few projects in her kitty. She will be seen in Rohit Shetty's web series 'Indian Police Force', also starring Sidharth Malhotra and Vivek Oberoi in key roles. The series, which marks her OTT debut, will stream on Amazon Prime Video.

The 'Nikamma' actress has been also shooting for 'Sukhee', helmed by Sonal Joshi.
