Parking is difficult and it smells like trash outside because of all the dumpsters outside. There's a sign that says $7 min per person for indoor dining but we didn't meet that and still sat down.
Mango shaved ice is pretty good. The snow is fluffy and light and there's a lot of mango packed in but it wasn't better than hui lau shan.
Dippin dots are expensive and gross.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Vy T.Seattle, United States9105616Sep 18, 2023
Busy little place at times.
Minimum $7 per person to sit down
If you order the melon Bingsu you should be able to sit 3 people. Melon Bingsu is amazing!!
It's not noisy at all. Great place for a little group to sit, chat and share the Bingsu. It's a piece of art when it's brought out. So pretty we didn't want to eat itHelpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Dec 9, 2022
We came here during our annual visit to Richmond with the kids, it's such a cute place. The dippin' dots was pretty popular with our kids, as well as the fruits with the ice cream.
Service was spectacular, the staff was really nice and helpful. The place is not that big but has some good areas to take some photos for your social media. There's ample of parking in the streets.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Oct 22, 2022
I came here for dessert recently and tried their Melon Duo.The melons were sweet and fresh which made it refreshing. There was a good amount of condensed milk, and along with the ice cream, went well with the bingsu.

After a feast of a meal, we still had a sweet tooth. So we decided on something light and my friend suggested this place which was recommended by a friend of his. And omg. So happy he did! Tucked away from the busy parts of Richmond, it's not too hard to find parking. It's a small joint and you order when you walk in before you sit down.
We had the tiramisu bingsoo regular size. The tiramisu was delicious and you get a shot of espresso to pour over the bingsoo. Layered in between the ice shavings is condensed milk and a ball of coffee ice cream in the middle.
We also tried the mini taiyakis. Red bean filling was our favourite but we also tried the custard.
Totally recommend. Great place for friends to catch up or a cute date night!Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Aug 2, 2022
I have been trying to come by Jack Frost Cafe, and on the third time I finally got to try them! The first time, we came here about 30 minutes before closing and they said they were no longer making shaved ice. The second time, we came here wanting a snack after dinner and despite it being completely empty, they emphasized the $7 minimum charge per person for dine in and since we were quite full for dinner, we decided to get it another time. Finally we had a chance to try it mid afternoon and do have to say that the seating was completely full. We got the strawberry shaved ice with cheesecake (to fulfill their minimum dining purchase per person) and we were thoroughly impressed. Not too sweet with good mix of flavors and textures. Too notch quality and despite not being the biggest fan of their minimum purchase amount per person, I do understand why they have it.

Delicious bingsu at this small cafe in Richmond. We had the melon duo and injelomi and red bean which were both delicious. Service was very attentive. Cafe was also very clean. Highly recommend!

One of the few places to get dipping dots but I wouldn't recommend it.
It's like $6 for 2-3 miniscule scoops. The presentation is horrid as well, you basically get a 10% filled plastic cup.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - N. S.Portland, United States4020034Dec 27, 2022
This was my first time trying "snowfall" dessert and it was delicious! Husband and I had a red bean dessert. It was milky and delicious (and not overly sweet), with a wonderful combination of flavors and textures including red bean, peanuts, condensed milk, etc. We also tried a grapefruit tea which was so refreshing! The owner is wonderful and the space is very sweet. Wish we lived closer as we would be regulars!

Rare late night dessert shop in Richmond! It's quite the rare find nowadays after the pandemic for any restaurant that opens late into the night, but glad that there is still one operating. If you're looking for a post dinner hangout Jack Frost has you covered. Be it summer days or frosty nights, Korean bingsoo is the way to go. Each shaved ice flavour will cater to you hearts desire, and the green tea with mochi flavour is always a crowd pleaser. Beware, it gets quite busy during the peak times, so come here early or risk waiting for a long time!
