      We dined here for a special occasion and it indeed turned out to be a special experience - thanks to the awesome food - great ambience and excellent hospitality that we experienced at this restaurant.

      What instantly grabbed my attention was this unique and interesting drinks menu where drinks are named after famous Bollywood movies. We tried Sholay , DDLJ and Hera Pheri and all were very good.

      We tried a bunch of appetizers but the most amazing was Brie pakoda that we tried upon owner's recommendation and we are glad we did . Hands down the most interesting and unique item on the menu. We absolutely loved it !

      Food in general was awesome - I recommend you try their fermented chili paste if you have tolerance for spice -- it's SPIcY and can add a kick to everything you order here !

      Dal , Chicken , Paneer everything we ordered was excellent . Thanks to owner's hospitality and excellent service , all the guests were well looked after.

      I can't wait to be back here and try their other interesting dishes.

      This place glitters and is Gold !

      有点融合菜的风格,值得二访!!!

      * SHARING PLATES

      【FRESH OYSTERS 新鲜生蚝】
      小个头的生蚝,品质非常一般,新鲜度欠佳,胜在有意思的搭配:腌渍黄瓜和红葱头很清爽;半冷冻甜品格兰尼达Granita,质地介于雪糕和刨冰之间,加入芭乐和辣椒,放在生蚝上冰冰凉凉,别有一番风味

      * SMALL PLATES

      【DAHI PURI 油炸空心圆形脆饼】
      清新有趣的开胃小零嘴,外皮极薄,口感酥脆。内馅塞了酸豆和芒果,搭配覆盆子玛撒拉粉,调味丰富,酸甜可口。顶部的酸奶慕斯浓郁且不会过分厚重,增添了绵密的质感

      【CAULIFLOWER 65 烤花菜】
      使用"塑料"白花菜,酱汁融合了两种酸辣酱:萝卜印度酸辣酱PACHADI、花生印度马哈拉施特拉邦酸辣酱THECHA,质地偏浓稠。腌渍金桔和咖喱叶作为装饰,这道素菜反而有些油腻

      【PORK BELLY 烤五花肉】
      肥瘦均匀,完全不油腻,但瘦肉的部分还是稍微老了点。调味清淡,石榴烧烤酱微甜,搭配整根的烤青葱十分解腻。最惊喜的是顶部作为装饰的玛撒拉猪油渣,非常酥脆!!!

      * LARGE PLATE

      【LAMB SHANK ROAST 烤羊小腿】
      今日份最爱!!!羊肉的火候恰到好处,用叉子轻轻一扒拉就脱骨,肉质软烂且紧实,又不失嚼劲。酱汁是用带骨羊肉、香料、以及咖喱熬制的肉汁尼哈里NIHARI制成,香到恨不得直接舔盘子,拌饭、蘸饼子都很绝!!!调味依旧保持了浓郁而不重口的风格

      * SIDES

      【SAFFRON RICE 藏红花饭】
      黄米饭贼香,颗粒分明,口感硬挺中带点韧劲,藏红花的风味突出,和印度咖喱完美适配

      【GARLIC NAAN 大蒜烤发面馕】
      面团的质感非常好,入口软蓬,又香又有嚼劲,但是缺少一些蒜香

      【MULTIGRAIN ROTI 杂粮印度煎饼】
      香脆,饼边有一点微焦,整体不如烤馕惊艳

      * Cocktails

      【Mera Naam Joker 古典】
      印度酥油Ghee浸洗波本|安格仕苦精|藏红花糖浆

      传统调法,口味合格,波本的香气和苦精相互交织。调酒师把普通的黑糖浆换成了藏红花糖浆,但藏红花的特殊风味并没有体现出来

      【Lagaan 金酸】
      金酒|哈密瓜|羽衣甘蓝|绿色香甜哈密瓜利口酒蜜多丽Modori|蛋清

      整体均衡顺滑,酸度不够,甜度中等,哈密瓜和羽衣甘蓝的味道特别突出。加蛋清的版本,融合度挺好,不涩口,没有腥味

      Ok I don't know y'all... I am not impressed. Came here bc I do love Indian food and a good new restaurant find... but I left unsatisfied (both by taste and quantity of food).

      Staff is super friendly, which was a plus!

      Food portions are small and prices are high. There's a lot of fusion business going on with the flavors and nothing really nailed it.

      Overall, I wanted to like this place, but I missed the mark for me.

      Stay Cheerful

      Gorgeous presentation, delicious food, and beautiful ambiance!

      Came here for a birthday dinner and it was wonderful. The setting is lovely and feels very upscale. For a party of 6, we were recommended to order about 4-6 small plates and 3-4 entrees.

      We started with the dahi puri, avocado bhel, cauliflower 65, and lamb chop burrah kebab. All were delicious but my favorite was the lamb chop. It was one of the most flavorful I've had in a long time, and the refreshing mint sauce was fantastic. For entrees, we got the selection of Indian curries, paneer pinwheel, tandoori butternut squash, butter chicken, and goan shrimp curry. All were also fantastic! I especially loved the sweetness of the paneer pinwheel dish and the spiciness and flavor of the goan shrimp curry. We shared 2 sides of saffron rice amongst us and 3 garlic naan sides as well as an order of jalapeño cheese naan, which was my favorite.

      We also enjoyed their cocktails, which are all a spin on traditional cocktails.

      We ordered 3 different desserts, one with chocolate, one with coconut highlighted, and one with carrot highlighted. The coconut dessert was a favorite! It had unique textures and was the most interesting.

      The service was great and the food arrived promptly and fresh!

      The one downside is in some ways it felt out of place right in the heart of DTLA. Street parking was easier to find on a Sunday but they also do have paid lots and valet nearby. Overall though, worth it!

      Chic with sexy lighting. Everything we ordered was amazing, even the eggplant and I generally never fw eggplant. I forgot what it was but there was a meat dish in like a coconut sauce that was so amazing oh and the duck tacos omg. I went with a group of like ten or twelve so we were able to try most of the menu. This might be niche but the runway walk to the bathroom is pretty fun--all eyes are on you (at least I like to think so). Our waiters were super sweet and super handsome. Would def come back.

      I would definitely recommend the brunch experience over the dinner experience. The music can get pretty loud so if you want something quieter, I'd recommend requesting a table towards the back of the room. The variety during brunch was a lot better than the variety (and flavors) during dinner. Also, the cocktails at brunch seemed to taste better than those at dinner! Service was decent - it was not super crowded but for some reason our waiter was a little hard to flag. Otherwise, I enjoy the ambiance and it's a lot of fun being here on a date or with a group of friends!

      1 check-in

      We are visiting from Toronto, Canada in LA celebrating my sister in law's birthday and picked Baar Baar as she had been raving about its food and cocktails. Elegant, chic , contemporary, Indian cuisine in one of the most upscale presentations I have seen in restaurants. The menu is a masterful mix of fusion as well as original dishes. Their cocktail collection is quite unique put forth in a playful menu with Bollywood movie names !!
      We ordered several cocktails - Sholey, Dilwale Dulhania le Jayenge, Mera Naam Joker . All were delicious and with the right amount of alcohol.
      Food was ordered for all to share - Appetizers Cauliflower 65, Avocado Bhel, Lamb chop Burrah kebab, Mains - Butter chicken, Daal Makhani, Lamb Shank Roast, Butter Naans and Jalapeño cheese Naan. Each dish was excellently prepared, presented beautifully and tasted delectable. We ended the meal with all 3 types of desserts !!!
      Service was excellent, staff were professional, friendly, knowledgeable and had great suggestions regarding the food and wine pairings.

      Fancy Indian food. Yes! This is my second time here and it still didn't disappoint. The owner is low key super cool and the food is pretty good. Definitely not the run of the mill Indian buffet type of food, which is what I'm mostly use to eating Indian food for lunch. Very inventive and unique, even for my Indian foodie friends who came with me. I do love the Lamb and the butter chicken. I do really like the Lagaan (a kale like drink but tastes so much better than it reads). Healthy alcoholic drink? Who can say no to that? Plus it's IG picture worthy. Take a gander yourself. Give it a try but expect something different than the run of the mill Indian food joint.

      Wow! Loved this entire experience. I came with a friend visiting from NY on a Saturday and they were impressed!

      The kitchen was behind when we arrived for our reservation but the bar service while we waited was quick and friendly and there was seating available while we waited.

      We ordered off of the Dine LA menu. The amount of food for $55 was more than we could finish! There were enough leftovers for lunch the next day. Unbelievably the flavors got even better.

      The vibes were giving comfort and luxury. The chairs at our two top fit perfectly and held all the dishes we ordered. My water glass was always full and the staff was kind and super helpful with decision making.

      I came here for Bollywood brunch a couple weeks ago and it did not disappoint! The dj was incredibleeee and it was truly a party. The service was also amazing. Waiter was on point and super friendly. The decor was also great! Beautiful indian vibes and the menu with Bollywood movies for drinks was super cute.
      Food was unfortunately not as good as expected. We ordered a few things. The chicken tikka masala was great! I really enjoyed it! Probably best thing we ordered.
      The jalapeño cheese naan was also really good! Simple but delicious.
      The fish and chips was really not good though. It was a basic fried fish with like a mustard sauce on the side. Really whatever and didn't give me Indian flavors. Also the chips were actual American chips. I was expecting fries bc fish and chips usually means fries but no.
      The shrimp and grits were also basic. The shrimp was good but the grits were lacking flavor and it just wasn't as great as expected. Much more grits than shrimp too.
      Finally, we ordered the masala fries which were a major letdown. I expected so much more but it was just regular fries with some spices sprinkled on top.
      Overall, I'd be back for the Bollywood brunch vibes itself. But I'd probably just order a couple of appetizers and chai as the food was whatever. I don't drink alcohol myself but was told by friends that the drinks were great however!
