Balcones Heights-City of Police Department Office

These police have set up a red light camera, in an effort to extort motorists who pass through their city. This is nothing more than a cash grab that endangers the residents of this city.
A red light camera is unconstitutional. Not only the US Constitution, but the Texas State Constitution. The US Constitution, sixth Amendment guarantees you the right to question your accuser in court. Try to question a red light camera in court- it won't show up to be questioned- case closed. What if you were under extenuating circumstances that prohibited you from stopping fully? What if the camera was malfunctioning? There's a long list of reasons why you could be innocent, and the camera's single point of evidence can say otherwise.
These cameras are also in violation of Texas State Constitutional law.
These cameras have been shown to reduce T-bone accidents, but they increase rear-end accidents, which lead to more damage, more injuries. These cameras are a menace to society. Take 'em down!
If you get a ticket from these guys, just toss it- they have no teeth. Nobody's coming for you, nobody's going to disallow you from registering your car next year. What a shakedown. It seems like greedy, lazy enforcement.

Really sad this day and age that people get away with being so rude. Came here to pay a ticket on the second floor and the lady behind the glass is one of the rudest people I've ever met.
