Our waiter, German, was hilarious, nice, and attentive. He had us laughing from the moment we sat down. The food was delicious and the view was beautiful. You have to place your entire order at once because they clear the table and refresh your silverware in between courses. I loved the truffle whipped ricotta dip, it was unique & creamy. The decor is beach chic, with a modern organic feel. It was my first time here and overall had a great experience. There are menu specials every night besides Friday and Saturday. I will be back for $30 Monday prime rib night. All sushi rolls are over $22, which is a little expensive in my opinion.

Last night we went to Beach Tavern and I have to say it got much better. I felt the vibe that attracted us to Beach Tavern 6 years ago- nice crowd, guy with a guitar, food and service excellent! Hoping they keep that awful dj away and stick with live music this summer! You'll bring back the Beach Tavern we all know and love!

We loved the live music outside and inside. We are so disappointed in the new owners and what they have done. The dj is horrible, we had raw chicken wings tonight and the whole vibe is not in the character of classy Monmouth beach. The only good thing was our waitress Melissa who was pleasant and understanding of our concerns. She was a sweetheart. If it ain't broke don't fix it! You guys need to go back to the way it was! We'll never go back again! Bring back live music and bands! You are catering to the wrong crowd!

Clams and calamar apps were fine. Lobster and shrimp scampi was awful. No flavor, no seasoning , was like it sat under a heat lamp for $50. My son's fish and chips were a greasy soggy mess, fries were ok $32. Thought this place used to be average and expensive, now it's worse.
Make the menu smaller and the quality better.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1 - Brianna C.Monmouth Beach, NJ08Apr 7, 2024
Best happy hour options around. Always have a good meal here. Lively spot and I love to sit outside in the summer.

We have been here a few times before. Great atmosphere. Food is always good though pricey for what's offered. For the price, we thought that the Ocean Roll ($24) sushi would be bigger but it wasn't. It would usually be a $12-$13 roll at a sushi restaurant. We would have ordered 2 if we had known it's size.
Tonight, we figured we would celebrate our anniversary with one of our kids. Service was not as good as before as we received the sushi without soy sauce or chopsticks, had to wait a long time for a drink refills, and didn't get some of the things that we had asked for. It's still a great place for a drink or for a date, but it seems to have changed slightly with its service.Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0Mar 7, 2021Previous reviewFirst time here, definitely not my last. Great food? Yep. Hospitable staff? You got it. Atmosphere? Perfect (and we went in the winter at night without seeing the waterfront). Everything I like is here. Raw bar? Yes. Lobster Roll? Check. Clam Pizza??? Oh yes. (Though smaller and not as good as The Roadhouse in Staten Island) Even the Iceberg Wedge! (Though I didn't have one for this visit). Made a reservation more than 30 hours in advance though.

My husband and I had a winter date night here - it was lovely! We spent the day shopping, walking the boardwalk, and ended our night here.
The ambiance on the water was perfect and the menu is impressive with lots to choose from and make everyone in your party happy. To start we shared the buffalo octopus, which was worth the drive down in my opinion. It was an octopus tentacle cooked in buffalo sauce - it was too die for. I am still dreaming about it. As a main, I had clam pizza - which was a CHEFS kiss.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Evette M.East Brunswick, NJ763Nov 9, 2023Updated review

I will definitely go again but it is a little pricy - Mar 1, 2024Updated review
Beach tavern is a very unique spot right on the water. They have good food and drinks here. My last visit just got a burger, asked for medium, came out well done, like crazy well done, sent it back, next one came out raw, like not rare but cold inside. Sent it back, just gave up, wasn't really that hungry so wasn't a big deal to me. Anyway, and this is where it gets good, our waiter and manager saw there was a burger situation going on and they were all over it . Apparently there was a family emergency and the cook had to run home so the backup cook sort of flubbed the burger. I get it, I mean it's just a burger, I wasn't upset or anything but the awesome response by the manager and our waiter was the best. She wouldn't let me be without something to eat so I ordered a margarita pizza which came out perfect. It made my night that she told us the real situation. I'll keep coming back here just because the manager was so great as well as our server , who we have had many times before. We are very lucky to have the opportunity to eat at such a nice place right on the water, you should definitely try it.

It was the best happy hour place to go, and hopefully bar seating returns. Not sure why some bars are full like kellys in neptune full bar seating. Yet beach tavern bar remains empty? Time to reopen the bar and get back to business.
Jul 26, 2018Previous reviewWe go here weekly. We live pretty local. They have awesome happy hour deals for a place right on the water. The place is clean, the food is great and the people serving are all nice and seem to bust their asses to make people happy. Have never had a bad meal here or an issue. I guarantee anyone who has an issue here is a picky out of Towner who has an attitude. This place is great. Can't wait till summer is over and all the giant black SUV's with ugly orange NY license plates disappear.

Who knew the long standing Sally Tees now Beach Tavern could become Cuzins in Marlboro? Had no clue about new ownership until it came to the overblown smell of cologne everywhere (0 stars) food ( 1 star) the service ( 0 stars) the vibe ( 0 stars) although seeing a DJ dressed as if he was playing at a wedding spinning 80's disco should have clued me in.
We waited for our table outside inside at the bar. The bartender was sweet, the martini was on point and the crowd was way less " bridge and tunnel".
If you enjoy being on the set of Goodfellas, you'll have a great time.
If you're looking for your old Beach Tavern that was family friendly and had decent food and amazing service and a great spot after beaching or boating all day, run.Helpful 7Thanks 2Love this 8Oh no 2
