Even though the majority of the reviews were not great I wanted to come & try the place because I know that when some of these places first open and start up it's a little difficult to get on their feet quickly. I've attached a photo of the Cali style fries, Cali single cheeseburger, Cali style hotdog, & a Cali double along with 2 soft drinks. Our bill was $27.22 & the food took approximately 20 minutes on a Saturday night at 6:33 PM.
My husband who loves burgers has the opinion that this is just another mediocre burger joint. I personally wasn't crazy about the food, the piece of the food for what you got, or the place but the bar side was definitely jumping tonight.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Robbie Y.Central Naples, Naples, FL11164150Jan 2, 2020
This is my first time here. Cali Burger is connected to the Marlin Brewhouse so if you want booze or beer you are set. I sat alone next to the 175 inch TV on the Cali Burger side.
When you get here your required to order digitally via the Kiosk. I got the double cali burger and fries with cheese. The kiosk was a little annoying to use and took me a few minutes. Once you get your order you plug your beeper in and then when it buzzes you pick it up at the counter.
All in all, it was pretty equivalent to In n Out but doesnt beat it. I think it was a little pricy for what you get. As for taste, it was excellent but glad I got the fries to go with it.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Kathleen J.Fredericksburg, VA059Feb 24, 2021
IN N' OUT IT AIN'T! A friend, who has never been to California, said this place is supposed to be "just like In 'n Out Burgers" in California, so we wanted to check this out immediately! Having been born/raised in California at a very different time, and raised on In 'n Out, I was excited that there may be a similar place here. And FINALLY, a place that understands 1,000 Island Dressing on a burger instead of mustard and catsup! THAT is part of what makes a burger "California."
Now, you can get a burger combo, cheeseburger combo and, Double-double combo at In n' Out for a fraction of what this place charges. Plus, In n' Out has 3 kinds of burgers, fries that are freshly washed/cut within an hour of cooking/serving, shakes and, soft drinks. That's it, and they do it perfectly.
They do not have all the other fluff this place sells, so they need to change the name from CaliBurger to something that better describes its talents, such as ComputerBurger or HopeYaGotTimeOnYourHands Burger. This place has no service, no smiles, no kindness, no drive-thru...lots of failing, idiotic mechanical equipment that does not work properly, and a couple of apologetic humans who literally do not seem to do anything. If I am going to have sit-down service in a restaurant, I EXPECT SIT-DOWN SERVICE! I am not going to order from kiosks or have my burgers prepped by machines that force the establishment to charge a fortune for a darned burger and fries!
NOPE! IN N' OUT IT AIN'T!!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Dec 5, 2019
Single cheeseburger (lettuce, tomato and onion) and cali-fries took 23 minutes to arrive during lunch today. Both burger and fries were lukewarm and kind of bland. The portion is super-small and unsatisfying. Our group chatted about swinging by elsewhere to have second lunch. Alas, someone ordered a chicken bacon sandwich & regular fries, and that took a little over 30 minutes which doesn't leave us enough time to swing by elsewhere to eat before going back to work.

Hi Amanda,
Thanks for stopping by! Since we opened our doors less than two weeks ago, we've been working hard to make adjustments, just like any new business, and we know that we have room for improvement to get food out of our kitchen faster. We are making those changes and we'd like to invite you back to give us another try in the future. We're still in our "soft opening" phase but will be having a grand opening coming in the new year.
Please let us know when you have time to stop by for lunch on us. - Don M.Hampton, NH014Jan 3, 2020
Took my family of 5 there to see if it would be a better alternative to other nearby fast food places. You order from a kiosk, so there's no chance of someone writing down your order incorrectly or entering the wrong info into a computer. But apparently that doesn't matter at Caliburger.
The food was average, the portions smaller, and the cost higher than at other FF places. But when it takes 3 attempts to get an order served correctly - and then not all food served togerher - it makes for a poor customer experience. And we observed other customers having the same issues with wrong or incomplete orders. Even our teens said they wouldn't want to go back.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Cindy P.Tallahassee, FL28987Dec 23, 2019
Amazing food! The Cali burger was delicious. I don't know what the low reviews are about...
This place could be the reason for all of the California fires!Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Nino M.Rising Sun, MD03020Sep 20, 2020
Good imitator of in and out burger the sauce is close but to much mustard. The beef is fresh and the fry's
are good but not identical to in & out.
They are vary clean and nice staff and food is good when your craving a double double with animal style fry's but not the same but a good alternative!
Taste (not as a imitator to in & out)
I'll give it a solid 7!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Alliegabb G.Fort Myers, FL1248Nov 27, 2019First to Review
I had the pleasure of trying the new CaliBurger located in the University Village Shops in Fort Myers! Not only was I blown away by the technology (touch screen ordering with facial recognition & a robot named Flippy that makes your food consistently perfect every time!) but the food was incredibly delicious! I ordered a Cali Double, a Cali Club Burger, a Crispy Chicken sandwich with Asian slaw and gochujang sauce, and Cali Style fries! Everything was amazing! I can wait to go back! It's also partnered with Marlins Brewhouse which they share space with! So burgers and beer! I recommend this place to everyone! They have something for everyone!

Only rating the Burger side, not the bar. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, except when it comes to these burgers. Another has commented on how slow they are vs the imitated and I can only confirm the same speed of service (slow). I was so hopeful the burger would deliver on that one and only double double flavor. But no matter how much I tried to convince myself I could find no real similarities that make the original what it is. Seemed more like a 5-Guys burger dripping and washing any sauce and flavor to the bottom of the wrapper.
Here is my take for each layer on the burger; Bun was good but if it sits too long soggy, burgers greasy (some may say juicy, to each their own) just seemed too much, cheese was good, lettuce was wilted not crispy, onion was good crisp, tomato was good firm, stingy on the special sauce, grilled onions on my wife's burger and 'Cali style' fries were greasy too, maybe too close to the hamburgers on the grill. Fries; ok but not quite as good nor the same as the original, they are stingy on filling the tray as well. Too much salt on my batch. No 'well done' option available as the robot cooks these things so was told it is not possible. Animal style was so so, the cheese is ok but the onions as noted were not great. Shake was good (strawberry) but avoid the paper straws that make it impossible to enjoy.
This was my second visit and my first impressions were not much different, though I did change it up my order a bit. Have not tired anything other than the tribute burgers, as In-N'-Out does not serve chicken or hotdogs. I'm hopeful if they really want to imitate something with a history and following like In-n'-Out, they will work out the kinks. Still kind of weird no drive thru if they are really positioning themselves as an alternative.
Like many Cali transplants in SW Florida I'll have to settle for something that has a long way to go before really delivering (yet still charges a premium) and reminding us of home. A bit disappointing, but in this case the target they are attempting to replicate is damn near perfect without gimmicks.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

We're still in our "soft opening" phase and are working through the kinks every new business goes through, but we want you to have a great experience with our quality product.

Please don't waste your money!!
Despite all the negative reviews, I really wanted to like this please. I LOVE In n Out Burger and thought this would possibly be similar but sadly, I was wrong.
Walking into a restaurant and not being greeted is a tell-tale sign it's going to be a negative experience and that certainly happened here. We were not even acknowledged.
We ordered at the mobile kiosk:
- 1 Cali double
- 1 Baha BBQ bacon burger
- 1 Cali style fry
$20.00 total
First off, we waited about 15 minutes for our food which felt oddly long for an empty restaurant on a Wednesday night. We decided on a table outside which I do just have to point out -- the tables were gross! Clearly haven't been wiped down all day (bird poop, crumbs, random liquids etc).
I wish I got to try the Cali double, but unfortunately our order came out wrong. They ended up giving me a double cheeseburger with bacon. To be honest I'm not picky so I just stuck with it. Unfortunately it was very dry. We could not believe how small the patties were. They are the same size if not bigger at McDonald's for $1. I was looking forward to the fries the most, which I think ended up being the biggest disappointment. The serving of fries is very small, I wouldn't consider them shareable - more of a side for one person. Our Cali fries were ice cold and had toppings on approximately 1/4 of the fries. The majority of them were plain. The onions on the fries were so over cooked and bitter they tasted like acetone nail polish remover. I am not a picky person and will pretty much eat anything but I had to hold my breath to stomach those.
So for $20 we ended up hungry and unsatisfied. As stated before I really wanted to like this place but it doesn't look like we'll be back. Please save your money and go elsewhere.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
