Dined here for my birthday in November and was one of the most memorable dinners I've ever had!

I was intrigued to try this place and thrilled to meet the chef, Charlie as he's the only Black Michelin starred chef in New York City! This guy is making history and will be following his journey.

I had the 12-course chef's tasting menu paired with a tasty Sauvignon Blanc that the sommelier had recommended after looking over the list of pairings.

The food was amazing--10/10! My favorite was the duck as it just melted in my mouth and left me feeling like the happiest person in the world, no joke!

The ambiance was everything!--10/10. The small quaint restaurant is very intimate and perfect for a date night. The music was fitting and even the bathroom was so cute with burning candles! We sat at the bar which had a view of the chef and his crew preparing the sophisticated dishes of the night. It was great!

The service was exceptional--10/10. The waiters that would bring out the tastings were knowledgeable about each tasting and described and answered questions effectively about the dishes. The waiter and sommelier were engaging and very knowledgeable as well.

I'd love to try this restaurant again when back visiting New York City. Can't wait to try the chef's newest tasting either!

I came here with my fiancée during the week for his birthday and this place is worth the hype! The atmosphere is top notch: warm, welcoming and intimate. This is a perfect date night spot or for just catching up with someone you haven't seen in a while. The service is attentive without being overbearing and everyone is just generally so pleasant. For the main course, I stuck with the duck while my fiancée had the Kobe steak. Both were perfectly executed. Although, be warned that the Kobe steak portion is small!

I would welcome the opportunity to dine here again; although, my bank account would not!

Before typing, I was struggling to decide on "excellent," "outstanding" or "amazing."

I took Husband here for his birthday last night, and it was incredible (there's another synonym for ya). Clover Hill was the first Michelin star restaurant I've ever been to. And when judges, particularly on Netflix's "Five Star Chef" talked about taking journeys as they travelled with food in their mouth, I had no idea what they were talking about...until last night.

I'll stop writing. Here are some pictures.

I was sadly disappointed by what was an excellent - if overpriced - meal. Nearly everything worked, but they struggled to accommodate dietary restrictions - several dishes included dairy, and I just had to make do with not having them. That's not an accommodation (and I'd filled out the Tock survey so it shouldn't have been a surprise to the restaurant).... The other dishes were all excellent, if not quite as memorable as I'd like.

The food world is abuzz. First Black chef in NYC to earn a Michelin star. I had to give this spot a try. Not even the price would prevent me from dining.

The Service was 5 stars. The Staff was very attentive and accommodating to my party's arrival and allowed us to enjoy the full tasting. I even got a birthday puff with a candle!

Dining Ambiance: The location is perfect. Its nestled on this quiet block in Brooklyn Heights that is also home to Cloudy Donuts and a an ice cream shop. All of which is a hop and a skip away from Brooklyn Bridge Park! On the day of my visit, the servers shared that the menu was a seafood forward menu. We had scallops, blue fin tuna, flounder and some waygu. The flavors of each dish were perfect and savory but failed to tie together an overall theme amongst the courses. The cocktails were bold while not being overtly boozy which I really enjoyed. The desserts left me wanting more. J hope a future tasting includes a collab with a pastry chef so that the Executive Chef can really shine on the other courses.

I definitely would recommend clover hill to others and encourage folks to get down there to partake in the culinary stylings of Chef Charlie Mitchell!

Had a wonderful birthday dinner here last weekend. The restaurant is small but very cozy and inviting. Service was good throughout the night and the food was delicious. My favorite dishes were the tuna and the Wagyu (literally the softest bite I've ever had).

      - 10 star experience
      - very expensive
      - staff treats you like gold
      - some of the best champagne I'v ever had
      - dinner took a little over two hours
      - all the food was amazing
      - parking is not good
      - They are not so kind with canceling reservations, so make sure you are absolutely going
      - I love the low key, but posh atmosphere
      - people were wearing all kinds of clothing, thee environment is very unpretentious
      - rnb soundtrack was cool

The food and atmosphere (including the playlist) were lovely. Chef Charlie Mitchell is a G, Black Excellence. My favorite items were the tuna in tomato water and the duck.

Would note the beverage menu & charging for all water makes it feel priced more like a 2-star than a 1. I ended up doing the standard pairing, which had some truly amazing selections and I would highly recommend. My husband did individual cocktails and one wine by the glass. He found it a bit tough ordering a cocktail completely blind to the evening's menu (e.g. his coffee Negroni was delicious on its own, but overpowered the delicacy of his welcome bites and first course). They do give an individualized printed menu to each patron at the end.

Service was mostly 5-stars, except one thing -- at the start of the meal we were asked if we were coming in to celebrate anything, we mentioned it was our fifth wedding anniversary, she said congratulations, yadda yadda. My husband also noted this when he booked. During the meal we saw at least 5 tables (that's basically half the restaurant, mind you) get a special extra dessert with a candle (presumably a birthday). At the end of our meal, our server wished me a happy birthday and wonderful evening... I didn't correct her, but if you thought it was my birthday instead of our anniversary, shouldn't we have received the same special dessert instead of nothing for our occasion? I know it's silly, but for a Michelin level restaurant, it was an off putting end to the night.

Just go here!! Hmmmm, maybe I should tell you why.

The restaurant is in a residential neighborhood. We had the 5:30 reservation and waited on the little bench out front for the restaurant to open (Good thing that it was a nice night ;) . Very peaceful.

Inside the place is small-ish but we were seated at a comfortable table for the tasting menu. I love the service here, it is respectful and responsive and the servers work as a team to ensure a great experience. I noticed that the food was presented not on the restaurant's schedule but on ours. We tend to eat just a little slower than most people because of the time involved in admiring the food, tasting, savoring, and discussing. A tasting menu is an event for us. Each dish was surprising and beautifully presented. After the 5th course we both wondered how much more was coming and there were another 2 courses and desert. A perfect amount of food!! I had a wine pairing and I liked the enthusiasm of the sommelier as she introduced each pour.

After the meal I went to the bathroom and that involves walking past the kitchen. The kitchen is tiny, spotless, and I saw plates lined up for the courses for my fellow diners. Walking past the kitchen also allowed me to thank the chef and other kitchen staff. I so rarely have the opportunity to thank the people who prep the food. I will end this review the way I started it: Just go here!!
