The food was pretty solid! My pina colada was delicious! My steak enchiladas was good too. They were a little cheap on my cheese on the top!! I just didn't like that they put some type of sweet dressing on the salad. I didn't ask for it nor was it on the menu stating that it would be added. The Guacamole was kinda weird and kinda flavorless. The guacamole stayed bright green the whole day. I found that weird because guacamole always turns a little dark. I will return to see maybe I caught the guac guy on a bad day. Just remember tell them no dressing on the salad!

I thought the mole was good. Not a fan of the chori refried beans but that's just my taste. Good salsa and the guac was just ok. Not bad for a local meal.

Spacious traditional Mexican restaurant in Cicero ... overall good experience but frustrated that I couldn't get either pozole or mole here (!)
Food:
Chilaquiles (rojos/verdes) - 3.75/5 - good, but I wished that the chilaquiles be more crispier
Tacos & sopes - 5/5 - loved the carne asada, al pastor and chorizo; delicious version!
Shrimp ceviche - 4/5 - sweet Mexican style with well cooked cut up shrimp, large serving to share
Flautas - 5/5 - deliciously prepared crispy fried rolls filled with your choice of meat; rice, veggies, beans on the side
Enchiladas suizas - 4/5 - pick 3 of your choice: chicken, ground beef, steak, cheese
Enchiladas mexicanas (enmoladas) - 4/5 - pick 3 of your choice: chicken, ground beef, steak, cheese
Carne en su jugo - 5/5 - delicious savory beef in a rich meat broth; also contains beans and you add in avocado, onions, radish, cilantro and chilies
Carne asada a la tampiqueña - 4/5 - the arrachera or flank/skirt steak tasted a little off
Caldo siete mares - 4.5/5 - delicious hot seafood soup with shrimp, fish, oyster, octopus, clam, imitation crab
Ambience:
Spacious, decorated in traditional Mexican style

I ordered a fish soup. It seemed like they just boiled some fillets of breaded fish they had somewhere.
The broth was flavorless and with 3 pieces of carrots and a big Serrano pepper.
The worst fish soup I ever had. I like to support my folks and the local businesses, but this was a very bad lunch experience.
If this is a Mexican restaurant, the cooks should know how to make salsa and not just give canned salsa to customers. Actually, today was my second time visiting this place, and remember there is not a good spicy salsa. Not coming back.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Cristian T.Chicago, IL199Mar 2, 2020
The atmosphere is joyful with music and everyone having a chat, food was great, the michelada was spicy and it was well balanced with the Modelo I ordered. The coctel was really good it tasted fresh.
I would recommend!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Ryan G.Brookfield, IL05213Mar 9, 2020
Don't waste your money and your time buying any type of seafood soup here they give you a little tiny shrimp around six or seven they don't give you no vegetables in the soup it's all crappy soup this place is a rip off
Same with the sopa de carne
No good at all mas senior advisor don't come here and save your money
Tony's Mexican grill 2 blocks west off of 1st ave on. Ogden Ave is the best Mexican fresh food in the world by farHelpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Alice N.Culver City, CA031Sep 25, 2020
The waitress were awesome, they all had such pretty colorful eye make up. The food came out super quick and was pretty good, not insane by any means, but decent food. The crown jewel of our experience was the 22$ margarita pitcher; which mean each drink was around 4 dollars.would highly recommend if you're tryna get plastered for cheap.
There's also a cute ass tent patio area they set up for COVID. We're having a great time

It would be no stars but that's not an option. So our normal spot for menudo ran out so we chanced it an came to Coculas on Cermak in Cicero. Well FAIL big time 2 eye lashes in my bowl. No way I was finishing this shit. Pissed to say the least

Not very fond of their tacos.... EXTREMELY greasy from the tortilla to the meat...it's like they slathered on the oil...
oh and their "carne asada" is really just ground beef...
HEY COCULA!! ITS NOT THE SAME THING! Plus the ground beef had a lot of fatty tissue..salsas were at least okay... my party
was taken care of by two waitresses.(one who took our order..another one who brought out the food) one was unfriendly and inattentive the
the other one was really quick on her feet and friendly. My husband's chilaquiles were slightly better tasting than my oil infused tacos. I will not be returning or recommending this place if they can't even get their tacos right.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Alex M.West Ridge, Chicago, IL01Aug 11, 2021
