2.5 stars...
Went here for a friend's b-day on a Friday evening during Lent. The nearly 2 hour wait wouldn't have been so bad if we hadn't been so far away from the bar for the 1st 45 min... Lots of good babysitting dollars down the drain. LOL.. Being smushed up against strangers is always better when you have a drink in your hand! Of course we were so close together, there was barely room to lift the drink to the mouth.
I shouldn't be harsh b/c I fully expected a long wait to eat all-you-care-to-eat-fish during Lent. If it hadn't been someone's b-day....
All that being said, the hostess and the servers were pleasant. The crowd was mellow, the food was good, the beer was great. Had a nice time with friends.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Melissa H.Crested Butte, CO941366Aug 31, 2012
Love the cozy atmosphere, great back patio, my boyfriend loved the scotch list. Wings were tasty, too!

Fish and Chips all you can eat on Wed and Friday. The staff is ALWAYS friendly. They have awesome ales from Scotland on tap. If you are into Scotch, they also have a good compliment of that too. Plus it's really close the LandMark Century theatre, which plays all the cool non-mainstream movies here in the city. the Duke is one of the many reasons I love living in the city and it's always a place I take friends from out of town.

After a long day, the Duke of Perth is just the place for comfort cooking, great beer, and/or a good single malt. Hung out in the beer garden last night and it was a perfect night to be there!

Scottish brews and a good selection of single malts make this place one of my favs. On top of that, they turn out some good food as well.

Quick service, good place to eat and drink when I go to Landmark theater. I always order the fish and chips there, very light batter.

Who says you have to travel all the way to England to get some good fish and chips? Head over to Duke of Perth and you'll probably get something even better. And on Wednesdays and Fridays, you can get all-you-can-eat fish and chips all day long for 10 dollars!! Pretty yummy!

Seems like a lot of people gave this place a 5 star...so I only had to follow up with my 4 star because of the service. Yes the bartended did know his stuff but when my buddies and I walked in, we ordered our first round with the waitress and never saw her again. We ended up ordering at the bar with the quick-whitted bartender. I'll go back here for sure, and the atmosphere is pretty solid. This is not a typical lincoln park bar, which makes it all the much more better for a change.

By far, the best (fancy) pub food I've ever had, though cheap it is not. Great outdoor seating in back in the summer.

What in the world happened to this place! I had been coming here every now and again for about a year and every time I go, it gets worse and worse. I don't know if they got a new cook or what, but the food is DISGUSTING. The last time I was here I had a veggie burger and I mean, how can you screw that up? It comes out of a box and your throw it on the grill. Somehow, they removed all flavor from it, along with all flavor in the french fries. I felt like I was eating a meal for someone who just had a triple bypass and had to cut out the fat and salt. My bf's meal was just as offensive, as was our appetizer. I didn't finish even two bites before we paid and left. We will not be going back anytime soon.
And really, $7 for a small hot apple cider? Give me a break.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Oct 2, 2008Previous reviewCute place to have dinner or a late night snack or just hang out and have a beer. Service was a little slow my second time around, but the food was good at good price. Plus fun music! Who doesn't love fun Irish songs? And no TV blaring in the background, thank god. That's a rare thing these days.
