Fun and Sun is the premier, 21 and up, social waterski and wakeboard club in the Bay Area of Northern California. We are a fun group of people who enjoy water sports, the sun, and glassy water even more. Whether you're a pro pulling Hoochie Glide-to-Fakies or have never been behind a boat before, you are invited to come out, make new friends, hone your skills, or learn a new sport! Do you waterski, wakeboard, wakeskate, wakesurf or know how to make mean margaritas? Then this is the ideal summer adult destination for you! Don't worry if you don't have equipment, we have plenty to borrow. Are you a boat owner having a hard time finding a third? Check us out! We'll match you up with a like-minded crew for each day. Outings are FREE for you, including gas and camping. Come join in on the fun!

These guys are soooo much fun!! I had never been on a wake board, or surf board before and I got exceptional instruction and support trying to get up and out of the water, and cheers on staying up!! This group is very well organized and supportive. I've only been out twice with them so far, but was ready to give them an outstanding review after my first outing. If you've been thinking about learning, or already know your @hi#, come on out, they'd love to meet you and we'll have a good time! I plan to become a member next year!

For all the ppl that speak Spanish this website is confusing so I called to have more info and the "lady" that "helped me" wasn't helping at all the only thing that she said was to go to the website for info. She never tried to help me o explain me better how it works. To sad that I have to found another place because the information and cx svc is really poor.

This was my second outing with the group and another fun one! I only went for the day but will try to stay for dinner next time as well.

Lousy, racist group. I went to a few water skiing outings with this group. Not friendly and very clicky with their own group of friends. You pay to go on a boat and they bump you off saying there is not enough room. Did not get my deposit back.
some of these people get drunk and act mean and crazy. Not safe when they drive their boats.
Stay away and save your money. There are better water ski groups in the bay area.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0Business owner information

Hi Miriam - I have talked to several board members and we have no record of you signing up for a Fun and Sun Event. We've tried to contact you several times to understand what went wrong. First and foremost, we are an open, welcoming group and we have members with origins from all over the world - as diverse as the Bay Area. Secondly, we always give a refund if we have to bump someone because of lack of boat space. It is our policy and we stick to it. Unfortunately, sometimes we don't have enough boats for all members and the last to sign up is the first to get bumped. Additionally, we don't accept "deposits" only full payment, so there would be no "deposit" to refund. Finally, our boat owners and drivers are extremely safety conscious. We have not had a single boating accident in our 35+ year history. Perhaps you had this bad experience with a different club? If there was an issue with Fun and Sun, we would really like to hear from you so that we can ensure that this doesn't happen again. To contact any of the board members, go to http://fun-and-sun.org/contact.php and email us, describing what happened.
Feb 2, 2013Previous reviewCrummy and racist group club. Don't waste your money and time on these people.
I went to a few water skiing events with these people and it was lousy. Most of them are a bunch of racists. The women of their board are ugly and over weight and think they are beauty queens. There are alot of drunks and they get mean and ugly when driving their boats around. - Pontus W.San Francisco, CA02May 21, 2018
It's always such an amazing time joining the outings! Wonderful people with fantastic hospitality that makes you want to come back again and again! It's been several outings for me so far where I both times brought a group of friends with me that all loved it after their first time! Prepare for fun and sun indeed!

This is my second season with Fun & Sun. What an amazing group of people. This club is what is keeping my boyfriend and I in the bay area. Never a dull outing, and these people have become close friends. When I started this club, I had absolutely no idea how to get up on a wakeboard. No problem, they had no problem teaching me. They're all so passionate about watersports, it's a pleasure to bring new members in. This club is a "must do".

We joined this club in 2003, to learn more about wakeboarding, and we made lots of new friends. A great club to learn to wakeboard, wakesurf, wakeskate, or waterski. Fun times, in and out of the water!

A fun group that meets every other week in a campsite on Lake McClure. They match Boat owners with passengers who've signed up for the weekend. They have some gear to lend to newbies. Weekend will run you about $100 to $120, plus $22 per car per night for the campsite. (Carpooling alleviates this expense) Silly, fun theme parties on all scheduled weekends. Ages range from late 20's to 40's and 50's, a good mix of single men and women. Bring camping gear and some extra cash for food and beer.

I joined this club last summer and pretty much went out on every outing. Everyone is so friendly and the parties are really fun. I am a wakeboarder just trying to get better and also wanted to get more driving experience so you can mention that too and they will have you as a driver in training. It is also a great club for anyone that wants to learn. I am so excited about going all summer this year!

I've been a member of this club since 2002, and have had a ton of fun at the outings. I came the first time as a beginner water skier (doubles only), and thanks to the extreme patience and helpfulness of many boat owners and members, learned to wakeboard and slalom (single) ski. I quickly decided to invest in my own equipment, though it's not at all necessary since the club lets you borrow from a large selection of club-owned skis, boards, vests, etc. as part of your weekend fee.
I'm stunned about the one review here that had some harsh criticisms of the club. I've never seen or experienced any such behavior from the members. They've always been welcoming to new members, and have gone out of their way to make someone feel like part of the group. The boat owners are always great about helping a "newbie" learn how to get up the first time, and other members are always helpful in showing a first timer "the ropes".
If you enjoy, or think you might enjoy, water skiing or wakeboarding, definitely try this club out!Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0
