Pans & Company

Pans is only half a step above McDonalds for fancy food folks, but there's only so much organic, free-range, farm-to-table, molecular foam I can handle.

I did my junior year abroad in Barcelona decades ago, and Pans was my fast-food grab-and-go lunch of choice given that I didn't always have 2 hours to sit in a cafe and do the full European thing.

Fast forward to today, and I had to go back just to see if the chain still existed. Sure enough... same old Pans, same old menu, same old grab-and-go. I got my "usual" pechuga de pollo sandwich and was transported back thirty years.

Five unabashedly nostalgic stars for Pans.

I ventured out of the hotel late night to grab something to eat. The smell of the fresh baked bread called to me! One inside there was a lot of me looking at the pictures of sandwiches to decide what I wanted to order. I ordered crujiente de pollo y bacon AKA crispy chicken and bacon sub with patatas fritas/French fries and a medium iced tea. The sandwich was delicious. I would definitely eat here again.
