First I would like to say that the food is good and if this rating was just for the food it would be higher. The goat cheese was excellent and the other dishes were 3/5-4/5 depending.
However, I had picked this this restaurant to catch up with a friend. This meant we had picked this place for the ambiance.
When we arrived, we each ordered a drink. The waiter tried to up-sell us to a pitcher, but I'm not a big drinker and only wanted one drink, so we declined. The waiter was visibly irritated by this.
Then the waiter came back for us to place the order. We ordered 5 tapas to share.
Our drinks came out pretty soon and we were having a good time catching up. However this is when we started to feel rushed.
It was a Wednesday night and the restaurant was fairly empty. There may have been only 2 waiters. The restaurant did not close for 2+ hours. We could not figure out why they wanted to rush us/flip the table so quickly.
Our tapas started to come out rather rapidly, and it was kind of overwhelming. They kept trying to take dishes we were only partially finished with and it really felt like they were rushing us out the door.
I was faced away from the rest of the restaurant, but my friend was faced toward them and she said the waiter was mean-mugging us with the entire time, checking every 2-3 minutes to see if we were done, even if he didn't come back to the table.
I would certainly understand this behavior on a busy day when there are people waiting for the table, but in a situation like this, what was the rush exactly?
Overall, the restaurant had all of the makings of a nice place to catch up with a friend, but I can not recommend it due to our overbearing waitstaff. I do not plan to return to this restaurant in the future and will caution people against selecting this place to catch up with friends.
I do think my friend will continue ordering takeout from here, as she likes the food.

While the food and pricing is good, with a bit of outdoors, I have to take some points away for the atmosphere. It reminds me of a worn out bar/diner and if it weren't for the outdoors we wouldn't have even gone. The service was just OK and a bit of a language barrier existed. If you don't mind those items, the selection and flavors of the food were good. Not outstanding, but good. There is a large variety. I had the warm tapas octopus and couldn't tell I was eating octopus, just nuggets in a sauce. To me a few minutes to determine based on texture and hint of flavor. For a minute I thought I was eating my wife's potatoes. LOL.

Walked in to an empty restaurant at 5:30 as a party of 4 (2 adults 2 kids) hoping for a quick bite and was told they are completely booked at the moment and were unable to accommodate us. The whole restaurant was EMPTY and they said in order dine with them we required a reservation. I was really excited to try this place considering we only frequent cafe ba ba reeba and cafe iberico in Chicago. The snubbery we received was loud and clear. They didn't want our service despite having a completely empty restaurant. Watching the staff line up and stare at us blankly with nothing to do added additional insult. Clearly this place doesn't want our service nor deserves it. What a disappointment. I'd understand if the place was packed with covers but you could hear a pin drop over the music they played. Don't go here. Not worth your time.

Finally made it back to dine in on the patio here. I hadn't been to this restaurant in person since before the pandemic, and I have since gone vegan, so I wasn't sure what to order -- or what to expect from the dining experience. But the service was very nice. And they graciously made a salad without cheese and pasta without goat cheese to accommodate my diet.

The Ensalada Gitana has been updated since I was here last -- it's much improved; the new array of flavors works well -- and the veggies were fresh in the Pasta con Espinacas. I also tried a little of the Patatas Bravas, and they were just spicy enough (although I could do with less salt on the potatoes). Other people's favorites were the artichokes, the empanadas and the paella.

The ambiance on the patio was lovely. I'd recommend it when the weather's decent. (You can't reserve a table on the patio, apparently, so just get there early if you want to dine al fresco.) Overall, I'd say they've emerged from the pandemic better than before.

Three of us arrived for dinner last night and were greeted by Chef Andy, who welcomed us back! We anxiously browsed the menu for our favorite tapas. We enjoyed Potatas Aioli, Quesa de Cabra, Calamares a la Plancha, Lamb Confit, and olives. Everything was so delicious, especially when we cleaned our plates with our baguette slices. We enjoyed some Spanish wine also!
Our server and others who cleared our dishes were friendly and efficient! Chef Andy stopped to see how we were doing and thanked us for dining there last night. It was a full restaurant! Their nice patio was not available as we had some rain through the evening.
We can't wait to go back!

We've enjoyed coming to this restaurant for years, but we were treated with such rudeness from the staff today that we won't be eating here anytime soon. Our family arrived at 5:30 pm (2 adults, 1 child). We forgot to make a reservation, but we knew that the restaurant would not be busy at this time and it wasn't. The restaurant was practically empty both inside and outside. When we asked the hostess to sit us outside, she rudely told us that the restaurant was really busy and they didn't know whether they could seat us at all. She went in the back to talk to another staff member and that staff member said the same thing to us, but they ultimately agreed to sit us inside. We immediately looked online to see how busy they were and they had reservations available for every single time slot. When we left the restaurant 90 minutes later, the inside was still completely empty aside from a couple of tables and the outdoor patio was half empty. While the food was good, the obnoxious attitude was appalling.

Great food, Sangria and friendly service. Haven't been here in years after moving out West and I missed this place. We picked around 6 different choices and enjoyed them all. Will return whenever I'm in town

After seeing the reviews regarding service, we took our chances, excited for tapas. The service and the food were EXCELLENT !!!
We had a reservation Saturday night 7:30pm.
We were seated by 7:32pm. The kitchen closes at 9pm so we had to have our last order In by 8:45. We were told that as soon as we were seated, and this helped us pace our meal. The food .. squid, potato's, pork medallions, olive mix, goat cheese with tomato sauce, artichoke hearts ... all amazing and so much food. Prices are very reasonable. We had sangria and Spanish beer oh and and a caramel flan like dessert. Highly recommended and we will be back!
Thank you for this great experience !
