Amwal Passkeys for Login: The more secure way to log into your merchant account
At Amwal, we are always looking to provide innovative ways to offer more secure authentications for our merchants and users. Today, we’re pleased to announce that Amwal is introducing passkeys for our merchant dashboard — a faster, easier, and more secure way for people to sign into their Amwal merchant accounts across their devices by using Face, Touch ID or device PIN. As part of FIDO alliance, we are joining industry leaders like Google, Tiktok and Apple in enabling a passwordless sign-ins.
What are passkeys?
Passkeys are password replacements that can confirm your identity based on encrypted biometric authentication methods already available on your device. When you use passkeys, all biometric authentication data remains on your device and cannot be accessed or processed by third party apps, like Amwal. Now you will now have the option to use passkeys instead of a password to sign into your Amwal merchant account directly from your iCloud account across devices.
Is it Safe?
Passkesys are as safe as unlocking your device. Amwal cannot access or process any of the biometric data used in the authentication process on your devices, and all biometric authentication data remains on users’ devices.
How can I use it?
For users relying on email addresses/passwords:
If you are using email address and password to login to the dashboard, you will receive an OTP through your email and then you will be prompted with Amwal Fast & Secure login screen. It takes 2 seconds to register your passkey. Next time you are logging -in to the dashboard, just click on Continue with passkeys.
For users relying on google sign-in
Click continue with google, after entering your password, you will be prompted with Amwal fast and secure login screen. Register your passkey. next time are logging-in, just click on Continue with passkeys. Put your fingerprint, faceID or Device Lock PIN, and you are in.
What if you do NOT have Touch ID, Face ID or Device PIN on your computer?
You can still use your email address or Continue with google to log-in to your account!
