Adders and Grass Snakes: A Love Story

I’ve just wrapped up my adder survey for this year, and it’s been another successful season with around 160 adder sightings recorded.
One thing I’ve learned is that the adders in my survey seem to be pretty good friends with the local grass snakes. I often see them near each other, or even on top of each other. I was very excited to see these two together:
