The poor 3 years-old child was victim of a dog bite directly to the face. On arrival to the hospital he was suffered from multiple facial lacerations and considerable soft-tissue mass was missing. After abundant irrigation and wound cleansing, multiple fractures of the mandible were observed, as well as injuries to the buccinator muscle, parotid gland and other structures. Reconstruction of the mandible with a 2.0 miniplate system was also applied to the other bone fragments. Considering the severity of the trauma (full mandible with joint reconstruction), the team got an excellent result. Unfortunately, due to the soft-tissue loss he got a scar. The parotid gland and facial nerve were affected by the dogs bite. He was left with facial paralysis on the right side when he blinks, smiles or send kisses.
