Military Vehicles

Rayco of Schenectady serves the defense industry by making military precision components for non-critical applications. Examples include handles, brackets, and cannon components for the U.S. Army’s Watervliet Arsenal. We are a woman-owned company that can help you to meet your diversity requirements on military contracts, and Rayco is seeking to expand to the civilian firearms industry.

Types of Military Machined Components

Rayco uses multi-axis CNC equipment to produce military machined components such as:

  • Screws
  • Spacers
  • Handles
  • Brackets
  • Artillery components
  • Parts for military vehicles

CNC Machining Medical Devices and Equipment

Rayco’s multi-axis CNC machining equipment moves a cutting tool in four directions and uses rotary and parallel linear axes to speed operations. Because the tool cutter moves along all of these axes, complete machining operations are possible with a single setup. Multi-axis machining also provides greater versatility and accuracy.

CNC Machining for Military Customers and Defense Contractors

With table sizes up to 120” x 35”, Rayco’s CNC machining capabilities support virtually unlimited lengths.

  • For flatwork, especially the high-precision production of machined metal parts, our 4-axis CNC vertical machining center (VMC) delivers superior results.
  • For three-dimensional parts that maximize the milling efficiency for any job, our horizontal machining center (HMC) is the right choice.

Military customers and defense contractors also leverage our CNC turning services with bar stock and trust Rayco for time-sensitive projects ranging from prototyping to production machining.

Abrasive Water Jet for Military Vehicles

In addition to CNC machining, Rayco provides water jet cutting services at our ISO 9001:2015 manufacturing facility in Amsterdam, New York (USA). This cold-cutting process supports a variety of materials that are used with military vehicles, including ballistic steel and ballistic glass. Abrasive water jet cutting can also be used with brass parts for ordinance and titanium parts for military aircraft.

MIL-SPEC Metal Finishing

Because we’re a full-service defense manufacturer, Rayco can also provide MIL-C-26074 metal finishing. This U.S. military specification covers the requirements for the electroless deposition of nickel-phosphorous alloy coatings on metal and composite surfaces. Rayco also offers other metal finishes and uses various finishing processes and procedures.
