Marion

My lovely wife and I pulled into a diner in Marion, hungry from the road, and after ordering and chatting with the waitress I asked her, “Where are these Artesian Wells?”

And she had no idea.

She mentioned something about how it was a long time ago and now they’re the Eagles. (I thought maybe the high school mascot used to be the Artesians…)

Looking around online didn’t provide a lot of details either. 

Artesian wells are ones where the water is forced up to the surface from underground naturally (or something similar to that.)

But I have no idea where in Marion these naturally occurring wells are. Any ideas?
