Daniel Lee (Dan) Dierdorf

University of Michigan Football Player (1967 - 1970)

Dan Dierdorf was born in Canton, Ohio participating in both football and track at Canton Glenwood High School. He went on to play football at the University of Michigan where he earned multiple First-Team All-Conference honors and earned First-Team All-American as a senior. He was selected in the second round of the 1971 NFL draft by the St. Louis Cardinals and spent his entire 13-year career with the Cardinals During his career, Dierdorf was named to the Pro Bowl six times, was a five-time First team All-Pro, was named NFL offensive lineman of the year three times and was named to the NFL’s 1970’s All-Decade team. Since his playing days ended, Dierdorf has been a broadcaster, first on ABC’s Monday Night Football telecasts, then CBS telecasts, and currently on the University of Michigan radio network. Dan Dierdorf was inducted into, the U of M Athletic Hall of Honor in 1996, the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1996, the College Football Hall of Fame in 2000 and was inducted into the Michigan Sports Hall of Fame in 2001.
