One of the most important lab techniques when working with yeast is to learn how to properly streak a plate. First you isolate a single cell then multiply and divide to form a colony. 1: Flame loop 2: Streak first area quickly but gently on the agar 3: Flame loop 4: Streak 2nd area 5: Flame loop 6: Streak 3rd area. Each time you streak from the other area as you create a new streak pattern.
