It’s a sunny and hot summer for us, but guessed what? The UL Team had the chance to visit one of the largest aquamarine park and fish sanctuary, spanning 22 hectares of mangrove forest, and took a relaxing dip in their soothing water — Tubajon Aqua Marine Park is a great escape from all the city’s pollution.

You can enjoy and tour around the area via bamboo-bridges and take in the ocean breeze from their view decks. There is an entrance fee of 25 pesos for adults and 15 pesos for kids before you can enter the park; However if you visit them on May 1 onwards the price has already increased by 5 pesos respectively. If you are with a group, you can rent a cottage for 300pesos (small) and 500 pesos (big).

How To Get There?

There are two ways to get there: The cheapest one is to ride a jeepney bound for Laguindingan at Bulua Jeepney Terminal this city. Fare starts at 30 pesos just tell the driver or the conductor to drop you at Laguindingan Public Market. From there you will have to ride the tricycle or “bao-bao” and tell the driver to drop you off at Brgy. Tubajon, where Aqua Marine Park is located. Fare ranges from 30-40 pesos. (It’s best to get the driver’s number in getting back).

The second one is a bit farther than the first one, but more comfortable. Your starting point would be at Gaisano Mall Parking lot near Capitol University. From there ride an air-conditioned van for 50 pesos bound for Alubijid, Misamis Oriental. Upon reaching the van’s destination point, you can ride a “bao-bao”, that costs you around 40-50 pesos.

Take your time and enjoy swimming, kayaking, boat rides and make sure to clean as you go. Have a vibrant day!
