This subspecies of St. Andrew's Cross stays short and produces a steady, but not profuse, supply of lemon yellow flowers from July through September. It has a loosely branching, sprawling habit and cinnamon colored bark. Dry woodlands with acidic soil are ideal growing conditions, but St. Andrew's cross is fairly adaptable to other habitats.
