Mastering the Art of the Messy Fringe: A Step-by-Step Guide

Hey there, everyone! I hope you're all doing well. My name is Gavin, and today I'm going to show you how to achieve that effortlessly stylish messy fringe. But before we dive into the details, let me share a bit about my background. I'm a barber with over four years of experience, and just under two years ago, I decided to create Poseidon Hair – a range of men's hair styling products designed to help you achieve that perfect messy, textured look.

In today's blog post, I'll be walking you through the process of styling a messy fringe using Poseidon products, and I'll provide some helpful tips to ensure your style stays put throughout the day. So, let's get started!

Prep Your Hair: Clean and Damp

The first step to achieving that trendy messy fringe is to make sure your hair is clean and slightly damp. As you can see, I've just come out of the shower and let my hair air dry a bit, but it's still a little damp. This sets the foundation for a great hairstyle.

Step 1: The Pre-Styling

To kick things off, we'll be using Poseidon's Sea Salt Spray as our pre-styler. The amount you use depends on your hair's length. If your hair is similar to mine, which reaches just past my eyebrows, five squirts should do the trick. Make sure to distribute the spray evenly across your head, focusing on various areas. This will give your hair that well-rounded textured look we're aiming for.

Step 2: Let Your Hair Dry Naturally

Now, it's time to let your hair dry. While I'm in Dubai and prefer to let my hair air dry in the sun, you can also use a hair dryer with a diffuser attachment to speed up the process. During this time, you can start creating some texture by gently massaging your head with your fingers in a claw-like motion. This helps to add that extra dimension to your hair.

Step 3: Adding Texture and Hold

Once your hair is dry, it's already looking much better, but we want to take it a step further. To achieve that lasting texture and hold, I'll be using Poseidon's Grooming Clay. This product not only adds texture but also keeps your style intact all day. Simply rub a bit of it into your hands and distribute it from the roots to the tips. Make sure to use that same claw motion and create more texture by lightly poking your hair.

Optional Step: Boosting Volume

If you're looking for some extra volume, you can use Poseidon's Dust. It's super easy to use – unscrew the cap, add a small amount to your hair, and use that same claw-like motion to distribute it. Instantly, you'll see a boost in volume.

As you can see, compared to the beginning, my hair now has a lot more texture and wave. If you'd like more tutorials on specific styles or have any questions, please leave them in the comments. Also, let me know what you think of this style!
