Take a Look Inside Noelle’s Makeready Libations & Liberation

Downtown hotel Noelle debuted right before Christmas, with owner Rockbridge and operator MAKEREADY bringing life back to a building that was one of Nashville’s original luxury properties in the 1930s. Located at 200 Fourth Ave. N., the anticipated opening also brought with it three new food and beverage options: full-service restaurant Makeready Libations & Liberation, coffee shop Drug Store Coffee, and lobby bar and lounge Trade Room.

The 2,900-square-foot, 100-seat Makeready Libations & Liberation helmed by executive chef Dan Herget is the main attraction. Designed by local architect Nick Dryden and his design firm DAAD, the restaurant’s aesthetic gives a nod to its Printers Alley locale. Brightened by a wall of windows running the length of the space, the restaurant has a lighter color palette, allowing elements like the custom art installation from Isle of Printing’s Bryce McCloud and the white oak drink bar by Tate Ornamental to really stand out. Seating ranges from banquettes lining the perimeter of the main dining room, to two and four-top tables, larger communal tables, and a 200-square-foot private dining room enclosed in steel and glass.

Drug Store Coffee is the ground floor coffee and pastry shop run in collaboration with Andy Mumma, owner of Barista Parlor. Light and airy, a variety of Barista’s coffee is served here, along with various pastries and specialty chocolates. It’s primed for to-go business, but there is limited seating.

Trade Room is a gorgeous old-school bar situated squarely in the middle of the grand two-story lobby. It’s got seating for ten, but there is plenty of additional lounge seating throughout the space. The lobby’s design hightlights the property’s Art Deco roots, with details including pink Tennessee marble walls, terrazzo floors, and custom brass railings throughout.
