For the second straight season, Nevada Sports Net will broadcast the Wolf Pack football team’s spring game.

The game will be played April 23 at 6 p.m. at Mackay Stadium, a rare night start for the showcase event of spring camp, which includes 15 practices over five weeks. The game is expected to run for roughly 2 1/2 hours. Further details on the scrimmage’s format will be released at a later time.

“We are thrilled to bring the Nevada football spring game into the homes of Wolf Pack fans,” said Amie Chapman, Vice President and General Manager of News 4, Fox 11 and Nevada Sports Net. “This is further proof of NSN’s dedication to delivering high-quality live local events to Northern Nevada sports fans. We want to thank Nevada athletics for partnering with us to broadcast the game as Wolf Pack fans eagerly await a new era of Nevada football.”

That scrimmage will culminate the first spring football camp under first-year head Ken Wilson, who was hired in December to run the program after spending 24 years at Nevada as an assistant coach and athletic director from 1989-2012. Wilson most recently served as Oregon’s co-defensive coordinator/inside linebackers coach.

The Wolf Pack return two offensive starters and four defensive starters from last season’s 8-5 team, with the spring game serving as a showcase for a lot of fresh faces Nevada has folded onto the roster since Wilson took over as head coach three months ago. The broadcast is scheduled to have in-game interviews as well as post-game reaction from Wilson and his players. Nevada Sports Net’s Alex Margulies and color commentator Mike Edwards will be on the call. The game will be simulcast on ESPN Radio 94.5 FM.

"I’m glad through our partnership with the University of Nevada athletics that Nevada Sports Net can continue to add more live Wolf Pack athletics events to our programming," NSN director of operations Anthony Resnick said. "We are ecstatic to exclusively air Nevada football's spring game this season."

NSN announced earlier this week it will broadcast nine Nevada baseball games, including next week's two-game series with No. 6-ranked Oregon State at Greater Nevada Field. Further spring sport broadcasts will be announced in future weeks.

NSN, which debuted in September 2018, is the state's only full-time sports channel. In Northern Nevada, NSN is available over the air on channel 21; Charter channel 787 in HD or 7 in SD; DirecTV and Dish Network on channel 21; or on AT&T U-verse channel 1021 in HD or 21 in SD. The games can be seen from the following counties: Washoe, Carson, Humboldt, Churchill, Pershing, Douglas, Lyon, Mineral, Lassen Lander, and Eureka.
