HONG KONG, JANUARY 25, 2024 — The “Magical Year After Year” Chinese New Year Celebration at Hong Kong Disneyland Resort for 2024 starts from today until February 25. Everyone is invited to gather magical blessings and good fortune at the resort to kick-start the Year of the Dragon! During the “season of love,” guests can enjoy a double date with Disney friends from February 1-18. Additionally, Disney’s Hollywood Hotel will welcome guests with newly designed Mickey and Friends guest rooms from April 26, which will be available for booking starting tomorrow, January 26.

Make sure to spread your wings and embrace good fortune and greet beloved Disney friends by visiting all fortune-collecting checkpoints this Chinese New Year!

 

Checkpoint #1 – Extra surprises await guests from the first of the Chinese New Year

For extra good luck since the first day of the Chinese New Year, pick up Disney-themed lai see* with chocolate coins, merchandise and food & beverage coupons when you enter the park! Mulan, from the Walt Disney Animation Studios film Mulan, will also make an appearance in the “Mickey and Friends Street Celebration” to share Chinese New Year blessings from the first to the fifth day of Chinese New Year.

Checkpoint #2 – Enjoy the all-new “Mickey’s Year of the Dragon Celebration” castle stage show

With dragon kites representing Sisu and magical dragons dancing in the air, Raya from Disney Animation’s Raya and the Last Dragon will make her debut on the stage of the Castle of Magical Dreams, while Mulan’s sidekick Mushu will also spread the new year’s blessings. Accompanying the dragons will be God of Fortune Goofy, Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck and Daisy Duck in their brand-new Chinese New Year attires, joined by singers and dancers to give out festive blessings to guests.

As the joyous music fills the air, this performance will bring you a brand-new original song entitled “Magic is Here,” co-created by a world-class international team and Hong Kong Disneyland Resort, to wish every guest a magical and happy Chinese New Year. Starting today, it is also available to stream on global music streaming platforms.

 

Checkpoint #3 – Get magical blessings from Disney Friends

Get ready to receive good fortune wishes from Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Daisy, Goofy, Pluto, and Chip ‘n Dale in Main Street, U.S.A. and Fantasy Gardens. They will be dressed in uplifting new attires to share warm blessings and bright smiles with you.

With the Duffy and Friends Play House decorated with Chinese New Year festive touches, Duffy, ShellieMay, StellaLou, Gelatoni, CookieAnn, and ‘Olu Mel welcome everyone in playful Year of the Dragon outfits with heart-warming hugs. What’s more, LinaBell has put on her new joyous outfit to greet guests at Main Street Cinema: My Journeys with Duffy, presented by FUJIFILM.

 

Checkpoint #4 – Make a wish at brand-new Lunar New Year Wishing Wall

Disney-themed new year decorations will delight you from the moment you step into the park. Beside taking in the aura of the good fortune at the red Mickey lantern dominating the center of Town Square, guests can also make a heartfelt wish on Mickey and Friends or Duffy and Friends Wishing Cards* throughout the celebration at Fantasy Gardens, by spending HK$300 or above at the park’s merchandise shops.

Checkpoint #5 – Treat your loved ones in the festive season

Share your good luck with relatives and friends with all-new Chinese New Year-themed merchandise items, including must-have keepsakes like candy boxes and red packets, and fill your home with prosperity through fai chun and New Year decorations.

Indulge in sweet satisfaction this Chinese New Year with three Disney-exclusive GODIVA New Year gift boxes. Remember to visit the kingdom of Arendelle and meet with Anna and Elsa from Disney Animation’s Frozen and Frozen 2 for royal blessings. Reserve your entry to “Playhouse in the Woods” by purchasing the admission passes and join Anna and Elsa in a novel and engaging theatrical experience.

Don’t forget to snap a perfect photo at Northern Delights with the never-seen-before, exclusive chocolate Arendelle Castle crafted by the GODIVA Chocolatier, this exquisite creation seamlessly combines the art of structural design, spray painting, and meticulous drawing techniques.

 

More to celebrate during Chinese New Year

This Chinese New Year will be full of surprises and fortune. Experience a memorable music journey with the world-leading pianist, Lang Lang, at “Disney Classic Live in Concert Presents Lang Lang.” Guests will be immersed in classic Disney tunes as the renowned musician performs on the stage of the Castle of Magical Dreams for the first time on January 27.
