With the passing Wednesday of legendary evangelist Billy Graham, many are recalling the impact of his crusades throughout the US and around the world, including his 1970 visit to UT.
Graham brought his revival to Neyland Stadium in May 1970, with more than a hundred thousand in attendance to hear his preaching. On May 24, singer Johnny Cash performed from the 20-yard line. President Richard Nixon made an appearance at the revival on May 28, sparking cheers and protests among those assembled.
