Does anyone know what was going on at McLean just past Big Timber Road tonight? Was driving home this evening and right after turning off Big Timber onto McLean (just past the rail tracks), the police had about a block's worth of street all cordoned off, and were rerouting traffic around it. The blockade ended right around the mouth of the Eagle Ridge subdivision in Elgin. This was at around 10:30pm. Quite a decent show of police force and first responder action. Just wondering if anyone knew the reason. TYIA!

This may be a long shot, but does anyone cut stone slabs? I have a heritage piece entryway table I inherited from my grandparents. It has a heavy marble top that split straight down the middle when my S.O. and I were trying a DIY move several years ago. I'd like to cut a new stone slab for the top, and cut the now-two pieces down to equal sizes to make like matching side tables or something. I tried looking for places to get this done when I still lived in the city but to no avail; places only seemed to do kitchen and bath countertops. Is this something that can be done?
