Ophiothrix (Ophiothrix) rudis Lyman, 1874

Ophiothrix is a large genus of brittle stars (Ophiuroidea) found in oceans worldwide from tropics to Arctic and Antarctic regions.

Ophiothrix (Ophiothrix) rudis can be found on stony coral, dead coral, rocks, algae and on sponges. This brittle star was never found associated with sandy bottom.
