Velma Honeman, 77, of New Ulm, Minn., died Saturday, Dec. 27, 2008, at Oak Hills Living Center in New Ulm.
Services were Tuesday at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in New Ulm with the Rev. Donald Sutton officiating and burial in the parish cemetery under direction of Minnesota Valley Funeral Home.

Velma Marie Huber was born on July 6, 1931, in Ochiltree County, Texas, to Richard and Hertha (Shade) Huber.
On Nov. 14, 1954, she was united in marriage to Raymond Honeman in Winner, S.D. Velma had taught in a one-room K-8 country school in Winner, was a bookkeeper at the Winner Co-op in Winner and the Norfolk Regional Center in Norfolk. She had also worked at Delmonte and Haas Printing in Sleepy Eye, Minn., and as a bookkeeper for her daughter, Janice, at Body Essentials in New Ulm.
Velma enjoyed embroidery, crocheting, playing cards and playing Scrabble with her children, camping, growing flowers and plants and spending time with her family and grandchildren.
She was a member of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in New Ulm.
Velma is survived by her husband, Raymond Honeman of New Ulm; daughters and sons-in-law, Luella and Randy Steil of Mayville, Wis., Ruth and the Rev. Michael Enderle of Clear Lake, S.D., Susan and Rick Prater of Columbus, Janice and Michael Sellner of New Ulm; son David Honeman of New Ulm and his special friend, Carol Honeman of Mankato, Minn.; 13 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sisters and brothers-in-law, Martha and Clayton Nelson of Brandon, S.D., Tillie and Marvin Johnson of Waco; brothers and sisters-in-law, Art and Arlene Huber of Creighton, John Huber of Sioux Falls, S.D., Richard and Cindy Huber of Aurora.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Paul Huber and a son-in-law, Tim Grundmeyer.
