Ex-porn star Mary Carey reportedly running for California governor

A former porn star and a Los Angeles billboard model who drives a pink Corvette have reportedly thrown their hats into the ring to succeed California Gov. Gavin Newsom in a possible recall election.

Mary Carey, a former adult actress whose real name is Mary Cook, said she has “big plans for California,” the LA Times reported.

“It is time for someone with a new attitude from outside of mainstream politics to lead,” the busty blonde said in a statement his week. “I can promise you — it won’t take long before all Californians will be satisfied with my job performance.”

The former VH1 reality TV star — who said she has retired from the porn business — has launched a campaign website that features merchandise and links to her personal site, where people can see her OnlyFans profile and pay to chat with her, the paper reported.

In her double-entendre-laden announcement, Carey pledged to boost entertainment and high-tech industries, provide help to small businesses hurt by the pandemic and provide drug rehab for the homeless.

“Finally a politician you want to be screwed by!” she says with a wink on her site.

Carey, who starred in flicks such as “Dirty Angels: Welcome to Lust Angeles,” previously ran in the 2003 recall election to replace then-Gov. Gray Davis — but insisted that her inspiration at that time was “a publicity gag.”

“The stunt worked out far better than they had hoped for, as Mary’s bubbly personality and sense of humor about herself, her profession and the campaign itself — not to mention her beauty — endeared her to the California public,” according to her bio.

Meanwhile, billboard icon Angelyne, who also ran in 2003, told Los Angeles magazine that “if I win, I promise that I will not sit in an office, I’ll still drive my car as the governor’s office on wheels,” referring to her hot pink Corvette.

“People will be appointed to do things like put gas in my car. We’ll have a party and make a pretend governor and give everybody the option of being in power,” she said.

On her campaign website, Angelyne calls herself “the key to California.”

“Hi, I’m running for governor of California, it’s just me and the dog,” she says while holding her pooch. “Would you please vote for us? We promise we’ll be really good. The dog only eats a little bit and I eat pizza and chocolate. Please vote for me.”

As an independent, she garnered 2,536 votes in 2003. Carey, who also ran as an independent, placed 10th with 11,179 votes.

Also considering running for Newsom’s job is former Olympian and reality TV star Caitlyn Jenner, 71.

Jenner, a one-time supporter of former President Donald Trump, would challenge Newsom as a Republican, sources have told Axios.
