How I dropped 50lbs on a diet of hash browns, bacon and cheese for breakfast

Forget intermittent fasting — one fitness fanatic says you can drop weight by chowing down on hash browns, cheese, and bacon for breakfast.

MaKayla Thomas — who has clocked up 1.7 million followers on TikTok with videos that show her shedding 50lbs — revealed her protein-packed meal in a viral video shared to the social media site on Dec. 30.

“High protein, grab + go breakfast meal prep you’ll actually look forward to eating,” the Kentucky content creator captioned. “This is our year for sure.”

In the video, Thomas is seen preparing three of the same breakfast bowls, saving two of them for other mornings later in the week.

The TikTokker first defrosts a frozen hashbrown in her toaster before placing it in the bottom of the bowl and topping it with egg whites.

She then sprinkles on bacon bits, but clarifies that turkey bacon can also be used as a substitute.

Thomas is subsequently seen cutting up a turkey sausage patty with scissors, saying she splits one patty between three bowls.

The fitness guru finally flavors the meal by adding optional cheese, hot sauce and a spoonful of tomato salsa. The bowl is then placed into the microwave, where the cheese melts over the rest of the delicious concoction.

“Loaded, lazy girl breakfast bowl,” Thomas triumphantly declares at the end of the clip, which has been viewed 4.7 million times.

In the comments section, Thomas said that calories for the meal may “vary based on your ingredients and amounts used” but said her bowl was around 310 calories.

She said each of the bowls made can last up to a week in the refrigerator, but can last even longer if they’re frozen.

The meal is light on carbs, which explains the relatively low level of calories. Thomas says the protein in the meal can keep her feeling full for hours — even if she’s working out.

“Just because it doesn’t look like ‘diet food’ doesn’t mean it can’t be macro-friendly [and] conducive to weight loss,’ Thomas previously stated, per the Daily Mail.

‘None of my meals look or taste like ‘diet food’ but that’s exactly why I was able to stay CONSISTENT and crush my goals.”
