 Recognition
  • an erect shrub up to about 2 m tall, the stems covered with reddish purple striped hairs.
  • its leaves are ovate (up to 25 cm long and wide) with a pointed tip and toothed margins
  • its inflorescence is a large corymb, the flower heads with numerous purple flowers clustered together.
  • its seeds are small (1.5-2 mm long) and numerous.
