Anne Caponette

North Andover - Anne (née MacDonald) Caponette passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 9, 2022, at 92 years old. She enjoyed the last year of her life in the loving care of the Berkley Nursing Center in Lawrence, MA. She felt lucky and thrilled to be around such caring people and was visited often.

Born August 19, 1930, in Prince Edward Island, Canada, she was a proud Canadian but also loved the United States, where she arrived as a young adult to marry and settle in North Andover. She was a devoted mother to her four children.

Anne, quiet in demeanor, showed love and kindness to her family and friends and lived her life in gratitude, and had a way of making everyone around her feel special. She looked forward to her summers in Prince Edward Island every year; the best of those were spent with her children and her loving sister, who was her best friend, Cathy. She loved winter and was always excited about huge New England snowstorms.

Anne's childhood best friend was her dog named, Teddy. She loved him so much, which was the catalyst for her to love all animals and care so profoundly for all. That's why she was such a giving and loving person to everyone she knew. Because of her love for animals, she always donated to animal causes. In later years she loved her cat, Callie. It was always funny to see that she would have three bowls of food for her cat consisting of one dry food, one canned food, and another of chicken she prepared herself. Of course, only bottled water would do. She loved Walking, Yoga, and Tai Chi Chuan. She was at peace upon receiving a necklace from the Dalai Lama.

She passed on but reassured everyone she would be watching over them. She temporarily leaves her loving and devoted children, Michael and Deb Caponette of Twin Mountain, NH, Maureen and Ken Bankson of Peabody, MA, Mark Caponette and Teresa Hanson of Hereford, AZ, Myles and Pam Caponette of Haverhill, MA, and Wayne Tillbert of North Andover, MA., her sister Cathy Whitney and nieces, Rosie Gordon, Clara Nussbaum, Deb Page and Heather Esmel, grandchildren Pat, Andrew, and Matt Holland, Michael and Cory Fletcher, Alex and Johnathan Caponette, and Kerri and Michael Caponette, nine great-grandchildren, her best friend, Claire Morgan and beloved caretaker, Leona Mienwipia.
A service and a celebration of life will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in Anne's memory to the MSPCA, Methuen, MA. For online condolences please visit www.contefuneralhomes.com

Plant a tree: How does it work

When your purchase is complete, a post will be made on the tribute wall of the deceased signifying the planting of a memorial tree.

An official certificate recognizing your purchase will be included with your email receipt. You can then forward the email to the family or print it and give it to them personally.

After an order is placed, our forestry partners will plant the tree in the area of greatest need (nearest the funeral home), according to the planting schedule for the year.

Due to seasonal conditions, the tree planting takes place during the spring and summer.
