Rockport - Edwin "Eddie" Joyce, 76, of Rockport, passed away on June 18, 2023.
He was born in Gloucester, MA to Paul Joyce and Dorothy (Keane) Joyce. Eddie graduated from Gloucester High School in 1964 and enlisted in the Navy in 1965. He served on several aircraft carriers before being sent to Vietnam. After an honorable discharge from the service, he worked at Gloucester Engineering for over 40 years.
Eddie is survived by his wife of 53 years Cynthia (Knowlton) Joyce, daughter Erika Timmons and her husband Eli, son Benjamin Joyce and his wife Kelly, his grandchildren Molly and Jakob Timmons and Kyle and Luke Joyce, and his lifelong best friend Ronnie Bouchie.
Eddie enjoyed his annual Florida trips in the winter and cruises to warm places, as well as having a beer on his deck while listening to oldies music. He also loved being with his friends and family, taking walks along the boulevard, and cars – old and new – especially Corvettes. Eddie was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He loved to guide his kids and grandkids through life's ups and downs. Being a Grampy came natural to Eddie. He made sure to never miss a game, play, concert, or other school event, and he celebrated every academic
achievement with pride.

Plant a tree: How does it work
When your purchase is complete, a post will be made on the tribute wall of the deceased signifying the planting of a memorial tree.
An official certificate recognizing your purchase will be included with your email receipt. You can then forward the email to the family or print it and give it to them personally.
After an order is placed, our forestry partners will plant the tree in the area of greatest need (nearest the funeral home), according to the planting schedule for the year.
Due to seasonal conditions, the tree planting takes place during the spring and summer.

Planting will take place in Spring of the following year.
