Thunder broadcaster Antonio Daniels give team standing ovation

On Wednesday night, Antonio Daniels was at it again, but this time, he had some positive things to say.

For those that may not know who Daniels is, the NBA veteran currently serves as an broadcaster for Fox Sports Oklahoma and has been gaining a bit of a cult following among our readership because the man speaks the cold hard truth when it comes to the Thunder. He’s proven that he isn’t afraid to call the team out.

Apparently, he isn’t afraid to be complimentary as well.

“That is by far the best overall performance by the Oklahoma City Thunder this year, complete, from beginning to end,” Daniels said.

“When I come on this show and I’m frustrated after a loss or even say I’m frustrated sometimes after wins, it’s because this is the team that’s there, this is the team that’s inside that bubble that were trying to get out of,” Daniels explained.

Daniels has been critical of the Thunder for the team’s poor efforts, but on Wednesday, he saw the team he thought they should’ve been earlier this season.

“When this team shows up,” he said, “there are very few teams in the league that can compete with this basketball team right here that you saw tonight.”

Daniels pointed out how Russell Westbrook set the tone early and distributed late. Overall, he thinks it’s a positive development for the team.

“The reason that you may see me frustrated on this show is because deep inside my heart, I know that this team right here that played tonight is the team that we should be seeing on a night-to-night basis,” he said.

With the win, the Thunder improve to 16-15 and cracked the .500 mark for the first time since Halloween.
